Premiere of SYSTEMS
Messe München puts its money on ICT
In 1969, Messe München tackles the high-tech and communications industry by founding SYSTEMS. It quickly becomes a key platform for SMEs and big industry alike. It also profits from its location: Munich is soon regarded as one of the industry's most important cities in Europe. During the IT boom, SYSTEMS' significance is comparable to that of CeBIT in Hanover, and it occupies the entire trade-fair center in Riem. After exhibitor numbers peak in the year 2000, the dot.com bubble bursts and participation gradually declines in the years that follow. The last SYSTEMS is held in October 2008.
